McDonald’s Is Turning Its Golden Arches Upside-Down for Women
To honor International Women’s Day, popular fast food chain McDonald’s is turning its famed Golden Arches upside-down, reports Business Insider. For a limited time, the iconic symbol will be flipped to celebrate International Women’s Day on Thursday, March 8, as well as to commemorate the movement for women’s rights.
In the decision to flip the Arches, McDonald’s global chief diversity officer, Wendy Lewis, said in a statement, “For the first time in our brand history, we flipped our iconic arches for International Women’s Day in honor of the extraordinary accomplishments of women everywhere and especially in our restaurants.” She continued, “From restaurant crew and management to our C-suite of senior leadership, women play invaluable roles at all levels, and together with our independent franchise owners, we’re committed to their success.”
Look for the McDonald’s Golden Arches to be flipped on all digital platforms including Twitter and Instagram. McDonald’s will also celebrate with special “packaging, crew shirts and hats, and bag stuffers.” For more details, head over to Business Insider.
